Okay, so far my research for this project has been going pretty well. I have learned a lot bout my topic and just how serious it really is. An interesting thing that I have learned is that our dropout rates right here in Texas are some of the worst in the country, with kid caring less and less about school in the lone star state. For me, this was a sobering fact.
I also learned that we are way behind other states as far as improving our dropout rates. High schools in California, South Carolina, and Illinois have been working hard at decreasing their dropout rates since 2008 and have each done so by at least 20 students per school. Basically, we need to come together and find a solution to this and fix this problem. It's pretty simple, you can begin with just paying attention in class and becoming excited about school. After all, it says right in the Texas Teachers Code of Conduct, a teachers responsibility is to help guide the students and make sure they learn as much as possible. Let's help them help us and find success.
Yeah, I definitely agree. I don't know if kids just don't care or they're just to dumb to try, but something desperately needs to be done. With any luck, your project will change the thoughts of any one dropping out in mind.
